Volunteering has redefined my purpose.

It’s very important to me to give back to the world in my traveling. In fact, in recent years I’ve planned trips around volunteer opportunities that make sense based on my past and skillsets.

These have included projects in bridge building and rural aquaponics, two areas of interest for me given my mechanical engineering background.

RIO CHURICALA SEPTEMBER 2023

Thanks to art sales and donations from my community, I was able to assist on a bridge building project in rural Bolivia with several other engineers from around the world.

Alongside my tasks as an engineering volunteer, I worked as a photographer documenting the build for the organization Engineers in Action (EIA) who orchestrated the project. Part of my goal on these opportunities is to help organizations like EIA grown and expand their reach.

The following is a short video I produced. It’s directed towards prospective engineering volunteers who may help out on future projects.

When I discovered photography, I immediately felt a connection with the craft and process. It made me feel more attached to the world around me.

Photography is special because it’s entirely a product of what you do with the life you live.

I work with artists.

Much of my art creation process integrates skills and equipment that can be of assistance to painting artists and photographers working in the art scene.
